new print...the hare and hen

this a final sketch for a new block, unsure whether it will be a drypoint or collagraph ! It will be for the Hare and Hen gallery at Burnham Deepdale North Norfolk. A really interesting gallery cum workshop of the potter Philippa  Lee who has kindly agreed to stock my cards and prints. It has lots of interesting art and craft and some very good bird books!

  1. Hi Mandy, Your work always has such a lovely composition. From here do you glue the sketch to board, shellac it and then work the plate with drypoint tools and xacto knife ? This is how I sometimes work. Can't wait to see this one finished. jo

been looking at coating blocks before cutting as looks like might allow me to get more detail the sketch is just the final one from a series of thumbnmails that allow me to try out different compositions....good idea though to then stick on a block...might pinch that one!!! cant make up my mind what size to do it at the moment...but happening tomorrow so will keep you posted!

  3. Hi Mandy,
it was a nice treat to see you as a new follower on my blog, and equally wonderful to find yours. Your work is beautiful & look forward to upcoming posts. I unfortunately don't have access to printmaking currently & I'm just a newbie exploring different artistic avenues, but hope to find some classes soon... I move about often which tends to disrupt my artistic pursuits!
